LOVE zebra print!
Today happens to be my dad’s 51st birthday! My dad and stepmom have been the biggest inspiration in my life. Truly, I don’t know where I would be without their guidance and love.
^The pic is about 4 years old but I still like it :)
And last but not least…the stepmom :)
Family is the best gift one can be given in life. Whether it’s biological or by chance, your family is what you make it. It is a blessing to have the family that I do. <3
Just a couple pics from yours truly :)
Florida Summer 2010—a live star fish that my stepmom found :)

Meet the best cuddle buddy in the world…Tattoo <3
..Yes, this means I am a cat lady ;)
Anyways, that’s all for tonight. Have a good night! <3
Hola, everyone :)
Last night, I met a pretty cool guy who was telling me that he can pick up on people’s auras. So, naturally, I asked about mine. He asked me 3 questions:
1) What do you seek most in your life?
2) What do you want others to look for in their lives?
3) What do you want to accomplish with your life?
I think that you can learn a lot about a person based on their reaction time to questions like these. In fact, I didn’t realize how quickly and how easy it was to personally respond to these questions. I surprised myself. :)
Today I’d like to talk about something that my friend, Cara, actually just blogged about last night. I started typing this post last night and at the same time, she posted hers. Life’s funny that way :)
This past year has been absolutely astonishing in terms of how much I, and my life, have changed. All good changes, and I’ve learned so much. The most important thing that I think I have learned though is that
You can’t please everyone.
To me, this has been such a hard lesson to accept, because I’m such a people-pleaser. Whether it’s family, friends, co-workers, roommates, etc…I want to make everyone happy. And, well, that’s just not realistic.
My self-imposed pressure to make everyone else happy ends up backfiring and causing me to be unhappy and quite frankly, stressed out. Happiness and stress don’t go together. They are opposites.
So, at some point in time, you have to ask yourself…am I happy? I need to take care of me first, for once. It’s a hard lesson to accept, and yes, I’ve probably disappointed one or two people along the way…but oh well! If they can’t understand then they aren’t worth my time and care anyways. Because a person who genuinely cares about me will understand.
Oh, and (in case you were wondering), to answer the questions from last night:
3) Help others
-Yeah, yeah it’s corny, I know. But oh well, this IS my blog, isn’t it? :)
With that, I’ll leave you guys with an appropriate quote and I hope everyone has a great day today! It’s beautiful out! Well..at least in southeast Ohio :)
So, is it corny to use the stereotypical online introductions? I’m Jamie and I’m 18 years old? Yeah…that one gets old after awhile. So, I’ll just say, what’s good, everyone? I feel like introductions aren’t in order, because by reading this, you’ll get a sense of who I am. Hopefully. :)
Anyways, I’m not sure how many people will actually read this, nor do I care. It’s more for my own personal sanity, and because I have never had a blog before. So, why not? :)
I have tons, and tons of opinions on random things, so if you follow these posts, be prepared! I change topics quickly :)
Hmmm, where to start? I guess I’ll start by apologizing. To anyone who is offended by anything on this blog…
sorry I’m not sorry. :)
I think a lot about what I say on here before I write it so it’s on here for a reason. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Simple as that. :)
Which leads me into my next and final rant of the evening!
Particularly in the past few days, I have come to notice that twitter and tumblr are increasingly popular social networks for ppl that I have met, either through college or high school.
With that being said, I have spent some time reading certain people’s posts. I think that some people need to be reminded that a blog, whether it be a Facebook post, a MySpace message, a tumblr blog, or even a tweet on twitter, IS PUBLIC DOMAIN. Keep in mind that what you say is how people are going to perceive you, and so the constant jokes about people and bitchy sarcasm come across rude! People are not dumb, they pick up on your condescending tone, even if it is via the internet.
I know that not everyone likes everyone, but please, keep your opinions to yourself! Whether you like it or not, you ARE being judged on what you say, how you treat others, and what you do on public forums. If you’re sitting there reading this and rolling your eyes, this advice is directed EXACTLY at you. I’m sorry for the tangent, but I really needed to get that off my chest.
I’d just like for people to keep in mind that your appearance can be enhanced, and it can be tarnished, by your personality. Your looks only get you so far. Start using your common sense and respect, and keep the high school drama in…well, high school.
I suppose I will give a little background on myself, for lack of anything better to do at the moment. (I took a 4 hour nap this evening, so I’m in that wide awake mode where anything is more appealing than laying down.)
So, I am Jamie, as you picked up in my corny first paragraph of this blog. :) I am a sophomore at THE Ohio State University, and I am currently home for the summer, working my life away. But hey, the paychecks are nice. :)
You should probably know that about 45% of this blog will be about Ohio State and my life as an aunt. I do have a beautiful niece and handsome nephew in my life and they are the best!
There is nothing more beautiful than the simple, carefree mind of a child.
With that thought, I’ll end this post. Throughout my attempts at blogging, I’d like to leave a quote at the end of each post, because I am a firm believer in reflection. Quotes are the best way to do just that. :)
I’d say it was a pretty successful first post! Goodnight everyone :)
